The history of creation the MGM game controller.
It was a mock-up of the control frame, cut out of plywood. In the front part there were cases made of sculptural plasticine with paper buttons pasted on them. A table mount and a bowl were made from improvised means, inside of which there was a ball (from some kind of door handle) to which a plywood control frame was attached. The project participated in the city exhibition only with a painted banner on the stand.
The first demonstration of a real-life model, a prototype of a game controller, took place in 2010. At that time, the controller was adapted to only a few games. One of them, Unreal Tournament 2004, helped a lot in testing the prototype, since in one game you could walk, drive different cars and fly different ships (on separate additional maps).
The MVP of the product is created. The sight was made on a bunch of hall sensor based on a KMZ60 crystal + neodymium magnet.
The number of wires has been reduced. The cases are made on a 3D printer. Analog Stick buttons from the gamepad were added. The pedals are used from the gaming steering wheel for PC. A USB connection appeared. The product has acquired new properties. It has become more convenient to control.
Currently, in August 2024, work is underway to improve the software of the MGM product, related to the development of an application for the DSP processor, in order to improve the operation of the digital filter, to ensure maximum efficiency of the controller during accurate aiming. The small-scale production of the controller is also configured to ensure the initial demand for the product and its maintenance.
